Singh, Dora

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful and loving mother Dora Singh, 87, on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Dora was a loving and caring person who was  known simply as 'Mummy' to all our family and friends. Visitors to her home could always count on a plentiful supply of hugs and home-cooked treats.

Dora was predeceased by her husband the Rev. John R. Singh; two adored daughters, Edna Goolsarran and Rena Singh; and one brother, George. She is survived by her children, Rudy (Norma) Singh, Sam (Puno) Singh, Thomas (Rena) Singh, Lela Singh, Lena Griffin, Ena Singh, Rowena (Richard) Tervo, as well as nine grandchildren: Rudy, Natasha, Samantha, Michelle, Karen, Michael, Neela, Samuel, and Sarina; eight great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Alexandra, Cynshera, Anisa, Ella, Sade, Ava, and Tyler; as well as three brothers and four sisters.

Dora will be greatly missed by her family and friends as well as her extended and adopted family in Fredericton and around the world. She was a devoted mother, a faithful servant of Jesus, a true friend and a genuine gem of a lady to all who knew her and who will forever remember her cheerful smile.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Keschtkar and Dr. Bruce, the palliative care team and the nurses of 4SE, and the staff of Bayshore Home Health  for making her comfortable in her final days.

Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Thursday,  November 3rd, from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1039 Regent St., on Friday, November 4th, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Canon T.A. Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Dora's memory can be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
